Welcome to the official Web Site of Ottawa Haunting & Paranormal Group Founded in 2001, the first organization of paranormal investigators and researchers of its kinds specific to Ottawa, serving Eastern Ontario. Dedicated to the research, documentation, education and investigation of ghostly phenomena, the OHPG welcomes you to join us in our efforts.

 

 

Ottawa Haunting & Paranormal Group does not conduct exorcisms, or any form of occult magic. We seek only to push forward the boundaries of man's understanding of the paranormal. All results of our investigations are made available for public and peer inspection and we do not make exaggerated claims that cannot be substantiated.


 

 

With our mission described above, we conduct investigations and present results in as consistently scientific a manner as possible, an original method unparallel to that of others who try to imitate us. In most cases, we don't jump into any concrete conclusion but leave room for our users to brainstorm about.

 

 

We invite people (you) to share a view with us. Whether you are a believer or a skeptic, we have provided our findings so that you may draw your own conclusions based on our research Using scientific methods, we have catalogued many instances of contact with beings whom we believe are a part of the spirit world. OHPG encourages skepticism. We take any "evidence" we think may be of paranormal origin, and we make every attempt to discredit it. As a result, the evidences presented on this Web site are both the data that we cannot explain as natural occurrences, and both we could have explained. We let you be the judge.

 

Who Are We

 

OHPG - Ottawa Haunting & Paranormal Group was originally formed in 2001 and was one of the first Ottawa Ghost Group to be on the Internet and offer public membership. Ottawa Haunting & Paranormal Group IS A COMPLETELY NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. The Ottawa Haunting & Paranormal Group (OHPG) in its original form, was founded by Daniel Touchette and Donna Thibeault (Ottawa Haunting & Paranormal Group).

We eventually formed a more solid group of OHPG members, after some changes within, and decided to go with a more streamlined group of experienced researchers and interested parties who all share a common interest in ghosts and the paranormal. OHPG is a dedicated group who do not have any preconceived or established beliefs about the paranormal. We are open-minded about ideas, beliefs and further research and experimentation. Like most ghost groups around the world today, we will always be learning and gathering knowledge as we explore and investigate reported haunting's around Ontario. Of course we will be reporting our findings whenever possible so the public can also share in our knowledge.

In OHPG we don't judge those who believe and who feel that they need to share their experience with us. It is our opinion that further research is needed to allow us to prove beyond doubt whether or not ghosts exist, although many of us have had unexplainable experiences of our own. Most of us still search for the answers to these experiences. > 

We would happily accept evidence if it could prove or disprove the existence of ghosts beyond doubt. Hopefully we can add to the research that is currently being carried out around the world.

OHPG has already investigated some of Ottawa's most haunted sites. We have been many times at the Historic Cornwall Jail in Ottawa, popularly thought to be one of Canada's most Haunted Prison. We have explored the dark depths of graveyards at the stroke of midnight. It does not frighten us to explore and investigate these sites, no matter how run down, how haunted, how dark or how spooky...

The spookier the better! We hope that further opportunities will present themselves to us in the future so we can test our investigative skills and try our best to capture Paranormal Activity on film, cassette and other media. While investigating is a serious business - we aim to be an open, friendly and sociable group at all times. We often hold public events that you can participate in too, and who knows... perhaps you will see a ghost!
